Hyundai has revealed the first pictures of an innovative plug-in hybrid concept car, Blue-Will. Due to be revealed at the Seoul Motor Show which opens on April 2nd, the “BLUE-WILL”, has exceptionally advanced technology crammed inside its striking bodyshell.

The BLUE-WILL concept is powered by an all-aluminium Gasoline Direct Injected 1.6-litre engine which is coupled to a Continuously Variable Transmission and a 100kw electric motor which is at the heart of Hyundai`s parallel hybrid drive architecture.

Electric power, stored by a Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack, is neatly bundled with the fuel tank under the rear seat to maximise luggage space.

The Hyundai Santa Fe European version will be shown next week at Frankfurt Auto Show with updated fascias and powertrains. The 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a new 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine, which produces an output of 197 horsepower and peak torque of 422Nm (311 lb-ft) between 1,800 and 2,500 rpm. Combined with a new 6-speed manual gearbox, the new 2.2 CRDi engine launches the Santa Fe from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 9.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 190 km/h (118mph) while returning 6.6 lt /100km (35.6 mpg US) in the combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 174g/km.

The new entry-level petrol engine is Hyundai’s 2.4-liter four-cylinder Theta-II unit that makes 174 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h comes in 10.7 seconds while the Santa Fe 2.4 achieves a top speed of 190 km/h (118mph) with an average fuel consumption of 8.5 lt /100km (27.7 mpg US) and CO2 emissions of 203g/km. Both Hyundai Santa Fe engines are offered with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard and optionally, with Hyundai’s new six-speed automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec takes the core performance equipment from the 2.0T Track model and eliminates non-essential convenience equipment to reduce both cost and weight. The Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec is the first production R-Spec model to arrive in the U.S. will make its world debut at the Hyundai booth at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 3 – 6.

The R-Spec allows enthusiasts to tune their own car to their desired specifications. R-Spec provides genuine track-readiness and powertrain scalability in an affordable model. The R-Spec adds core Track model performance equipment to the most affordable 2.0T model, such as: Track-tuned suspension, 19-inch gunmetal-finish alloy wheels with performance Summer tires, Brembo® braking system, Torsen® limited-slip differential and R-Spec badging.

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec will be available in three exteriors colors most common among international racing teams: Karussell White, Bathurst Black and Tsukuba Red. R-Spec comes with manual transmission only. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec priced at $23,750 is beginning to arrive at dealerships across the country.
